How to care for your new ceramic art

Is it ok to put my new mug in the dishwasher? What about the microwave?

Functional pieces like cups, mugs, bowls, and anything else intended for contact with food are microwave* and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is always more gentle. If you tend to be rough on your dishes, it would be best to take extra care in washing your pieces by hand. *If your piece has 22 carat gold accents it is not microwave safe.

What are the best practices for taking care of my new mug?

Your piece was designed and constructed to last for many years with proper care. That said, ceramics are breakable. It is not invincible to getting bumped or knocked off of a countertop. Thermal shock can affect the longevity of your piece as well. Never pour boiling hot water into a cold mug. It is best to gradually warm up your piece with warm tap water and let it sit for a few minutes before pouring in hot liquids. The same applies to cold beverages - do not add an iced beverage to a warm vessel fresh out of the dishwasher.

How are orders shipped?

USPS Priority Mail is the default shipping method listed. Orders are shipped from Monterey County, California. USA. Shipments are ensured to the value of the pieces inside the order.

I’m nearby - can I pickup my order instead of having it shipped?

Yes, you may chose to pickup your order! Mark this option at checkout and I will get in touch with you to schedule a time to pickup in Monterey. Order processing will still take 3-5 business days to prepare your order before it will be ready for pickup.

What about international orders? Do you ship internationally?

As of October 2021, shipping out of the USA is not automatically offered. If you are interested in getting a shipping quote for a specific item, please email me and I will provide a shipping total for you. If you chose to go that route, please note: the customer is responsible for any customs and/or duty fees. Please check with your local customs office for more information about your specific requirements.

What about sales tax?

California residents will be charged the current rate of 9.25% for sales tax.

Is my transaction secure?

All transactions are secured using 256-bit SSL encryption and your credit card information is never stored. The email address included at checkout may be used to contact you about your order, if necessary. I value your privacy!

Do you sell at craft fairs?

I previously had a network of craft fairs I participated in in San Jose and San Francisco, but since the pandemic have cut back on in-person fairs. I don’t offer wholesale or consignment accounts.
