Workshop Frequently Asked Questions
Who are workshops intended for?
Workshops are intended for adults. Teenagers age 12 and older may join if signing up with an adult.
Do i need to be an artist to take a workshop?
Workshops are designed to be perfect for beginners - no clay experience is required! I may offer advanced courses in the future and will include skill level requirements in the course descriptions.
I’m visiting Monterey from out of town - Can I take a workshop?
Yes! I’d love to have you! Please select the SHIPPING option when you checkout with your workshop - I will ship your creations to you when they are finished.
What do i need to bring?
All tools and materials will be provided. You can bring a bottle of water if you’d like. Dress comfortably. I will have aprons available to use, but you may get some clay dust on your clothes - it will be safer to leave your fine garments in the closet and wear something that is easy to wash. :)
What if I’m not good at it?
Workshops are designed to be a positive and supportive environment, allowing students to feel comfortable and have fun! I will encourage students to let go of expectation and self judgement and enjoy the creative practice.
Where do I park?
There is a small parking lot available for customers behind the building. Enter from Foam Street and park only in the spaces NOT marked with numbers. There are also many options for street parking, and a parking garage on Hoffman/Foam Street for longer stays.
What if I need to cancel my workshop?
Workshop fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend your scheduled workshop, please contact me at least 48 hours in advance so I can plan for your absence and provide an option to reschedule your workshop to a later date or transfer your seat to a friend. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the workshop date and time are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Do you have any covid-19 precautions in place?
Students will not be required to wear a mask during workshops, but you are encouraged to wear one if that makes you feel more comfortable. Studio doors and windows will remain open during sessions to encourage fresh airflow. Workshops will be small groups of 4. Each student will have their own tools so there will be minimal sharing, if any. If you are registered for an upcoming workshop and are feeling illness symptoms, please email me ASAP to reschedule your workshop to a later date.
My friends and I would like to take a workshop - can you schedule a session for us?
I’d be happy to schedule a session just for for you if you have a minimum of 3 people. Please email me and we’ll coordinate a time! A minimum of 2-3 weeks notice is required, depending on season and pre-scheduled workshops/sales events.
